May 2022
In May, we devoted ourselves to a focus on the Fediverse.
In particular, we published the following articles:
- The «fediverse». Mastodon: open-source social network;
- The «fediverse»: here is the federated universe in the Internet network.;
- Our Lemmy Community in the «fediverse»: Privacy Community;
In addition, we have implemented on our servers:
- an instance of Mastodon (at the moment, registration, for technical reasons, is restricted to only a few users, but we plan to extend registration to everyone soon) is reachable at https://mastodon.nicfab.it - version 3.5.3 (current - latest);
- an instance of Lemmy which constitutes our “Privacy Community”, reachable at https://community.nicfab.it - version 0.16.4 (current - latest). We are waiting for you on “Privacy Community”! Register for free!
- an instance of Peertube whose registration is currently not allowed for technical reasons, but we plan to make it available to everyone soon, reachable at https://tube.nicfab.eu - version 4.1.1 (current 4.2.0 latest).
We also performed update and monitoring activities as follows:
- updating our Matrix instance to the latest version 1.60.0 and updating its components:
- updating Element(Matrix web component) to versions 1.10.12 and 1.10.13 (currently 1.10.14 - latest); anyone interested can register for free from this page and use the resource;

- Ubuntu 20.04 system updates.
We have long considered the Drafts app a key resource that is a “must-have” for us, and we have implemented it with several add-ons, among which the excellent and powerful resource “ThoughtAsylum Action Group (Drafts)” by Stephen Millard deserves mention.
Apart from what we described, we had to devote ourselves to professional activity, which is absorbing compared to technical and outreach activities.
We said goodbye to May with other programs that began in June and to which we will postpone updates next month.
